Privacy Policy
How Quit UK Tax handles your data — which is almost none.
Quit UK Tax collects no personal data by default. Our calculators run entirely in your browser and we never store the numbers you enter. We use cookieless, first-party Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to measure aggregate traffic and page performance — these set no cookies, build no profile and collect no data that identifies you. The only time we receive anything personal is when you choose to use the contact form or "email me my result" — then we get your email, and your message or result, and nothing else.
Who is responsible for your data?
The data controller for Quit UK Tax is DT Global Ventures Ltd, the company that operates this site. If you have a question about your data or want to exercise any of your rights, email us at hello@quituktax.co.uk. We are an independent educational resource. We are not HMRC, not gov.uk and not a regulated adviser — see our disclaimer.

What personal data do we collect?
Almost none, and never silently. Here is the complete list.
| When | What we collect | Why |
|---|---|---|
| You use the contact form | Your name (optional), your email address, your message | So we can reply to you |
| You choose "email me my result / my checklist" | Your email address, and the result or checklist you asked us to send | So we can email you the copy you requested |
| You browse the site | Aggregate, cookieless analytics only — page views, approximate region, device and browser type, and page-performance timings. No cookies, no profile, no advertising data and nothing that identifies you. | To understand which pages help and to keep the site fast |
That is the whole of it. We do not collect your name, address, date of birth, National Insurance number, salary or any tax figures unless you type them into a message and send it to us.
Do the calculators send my numbers to you?
No. Our residence calculator, leaving-the-UK checklist and refund checker run entirely in your browser as small applications. The day counts, ties, dates and figures you enter are processed on your own device and are not transmitted to us. If you do not press "email me my result", nothing you typed ever leaves your browser. The site itself is a static set of files served from a content-delivery network. The only network request that sends us anything personal is the contact / "email me my result" form — and only when you submit it.
Do you use analytics or cookies?
We use Vercel Web Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights to measure how the site is used and how fast it loads. Both are cookieless and first-party: they set no cookies, store no identifier on your device and do not follow you across other sites. They record aggregate information — page views, approximate region, device and browser type, and page-performance timings — and explicitly do not collect personal data, build a profile of you, or set any advertising cookies. Because we set no non-essential cookies, the site shows no cookie consent banner. See also our cookie policy.
Who processes the data, and how does it flow?
When you submit the form, it posts to our own website, which passes it server-side to our shared forms service; that service sends the email to us. We use these processors:
- Vercel — hosts the static site, runs the small function that forwards your form submission, and provides the cookieless Web Analytics and Speed Insights described above.
- Resend — delivers the resulting email to us, processing your email address and message so the message can be sent.
We use no other processors in v1: no advertising network, no third-party fonts or scripts, no chat widget. Both Vercel and Resend may process data outside the UK; where they do, that processing is covered by appropriate safeguards.
What is our lawful basis under UK GDPR?
- Consent — when you actively choose to send a message or have a result emailed to you, you are consenting to us using your email for that purpose.
- Legitimate interests — responding to genuine enquiries about the site and its content, keeping a short record of what was sent, and measuring aggregate, cookieless analytics to understand which pages help and to keep the site fast.
We do not use your data for profiling, advertising or automated decision-making, and we never sell or share it for marketing.
How long do we keep it?
We keep contact-form and "email me" enquiries only as long as we need them to respond and to keep a reasonable record of the exchange, after which they are deleted. We do not build a marketing database from them. If you ask us to delete your enquiry sooner, we will.
What are your rights, and how do you use them?
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you; rectify anything inaccurate; erase it; restrict or object to our processing; and portability of the data you gave us. To exercise any of these, email hello@quituktax.co.uk. If you are not happy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the UK's regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) — see ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and move the "Last reviewed" date. There is no version we publish quietly: this page is always the current one. See also our cookie policy and the terms of use.
